Falling In Reverse Concert Review Talking Stick Resort Amphitheater 10-15-24

Review and Photos By Roc Boyum

Falling In Reverse kicked off their Popular Monster II “World Domination” tour at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheater in Phoenix, AZ, captivating an audience of over 13,000 dedicated fans.

F.I.R. gave the Phoenix audience, all the sound, fire explosions, smoke, big screen videos and lights that you’d expect from a headline act on a tour of this size, to that end; Falling In Reverse did not disappoint. The only issue for this show at leaset at the Talking Stick Resort was for the fans up close. The Talking Stick stage is always a very high stage which is not an issue in and of itself but coupled with the addition of what I call “Ronnie’s Runway” which is an elevated ramp at the front of the stage; it was near impossible to see any of the other band members performing. Also, I personally missed the addition of Luke Holland’s drum solo as seen on previous tours; but, since you couldn’t see him due to the stage set up, I guess that’s the reason for ommiting his solo. If you really want to see Luke playing live on this tour, check out the “official” Luke Holland drum cam from the Kia Fourm in Los Angeles on youtube.

This night’s lineup featured support from two great acts; Bad Wolves and rapper/singer Tech N9ne, both of whom delivered their own mix of heavy rock, pop, and rap that fit right in line with the F.I.R. vibe and helped to elevate the entire show package. The Black Veil Brides, who were on most of this tour, were unfortunately unable to make this show presumebly due to the re-scheduled date not lining up with the BVB tour schedule.

This tour was initially planned to take place in Phoenix, AZ, on September 25, 2024, but was rescheduled due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The Talking Stick Resort Amphitheater on this evening was at near full capacity which serves as a confirmation of the unwavering support that Ronnie Radke and Falling In Reverse had generated over the years.

Ronnie Radke-Falling In Reverse

From the moment F.I.R. took the stage, fans boisterously sang along with Ronnie, eagerly filling in the gaps whenever he held his microphone out to the crowd. This was an incredible experience, particularly for the band’s long-time supporters, as it had been a long-awaited occasion to see F.I.R. headline at the Talking Stick Resort.

Like many well-known bands, F.I.R. has a complex history in their journey to fame. Ronnie Radke serves as the steadfast figure in F.I.R., and hearing over 13,000 fans chanting “Ronnie, Ronnie, Ronnie” between songs is not just a remarkable achievement, but also a testament to Ronnie’s unwavering commitment to keeping the band thriving and continuing their upward trajectory.

One of the evening’s highlights was during the song “Ronald” in which T9 joined Ronnie and F.I.R. on stage to bring the original recording of this song to life. On the origianl recording from their latest Popular Monster LP, the band was joined by T9 and Alex Terrible from the band Slaughter to Prevail to cover the vocal parts of the three characters in the song. For this performance, Ronnie sang his part and the Alex vocal part with T9 belting out his original part. The two rappers stood up high on “Ronnie’s Runway” and faced off to re-enact the song with the original video playing out on the big screen behind the band. This rendition really brought this song to life and will be something that these Phoenix fans will be talking about for some time to come; that’s for sure!

The band delivered a ripping thirteen-song set to the Phoenix audience, predominantly featuring tracks from their latest release, Popular Monster. The songs from the Popular Monster LP were; “Prequel, Zombified, Popular Monster, Bad Guy, All My Life, Voices in My Head, Ronald and Watch The World Burn.” Other great tracks from their set were; “I’m Not a Vampire” The Drug In You, Coming Home, Just Like You and Losing My Mind,” which completed the band’s entire set of material. So basically, the entire night was a night of F.I.R. fan favorites.

This is an amazing tour and Ronnie and Falling In Reverse always put on a extraordinary show that you don’t want to miss. Catch this band live whenever you can and be part of the fun.
