Celebrating two decades of electrifying music, Five Finger Death Punch set the stage ablaze as they hit the road in July and are rocking audiences across the country until the end of October!

Their tour electrified Phoenix as part of the exhilarating “20th Anniversary World Tour.” In a thrilling twist of fate, this date coincided with the second day of autumn, “When The Seasons Change,” gifting us with delightful—and refreshingly cooler—weather for this outdoor spectacle.

Joining them were some sensational supporting acts, igniting excitement among a diverse array of music enthusiasts as they blaze a trail across the U.S. throughout the summer and into the fall.

Eva Under Fire:

Eva Under Fire is an alternative metal band hailing from Detroit, established in 2015. As they kicked off their set with “Awakening,” the opening track from their second album, Villainous, released in July 2026, frontwoman Eva Marie quickly had the audience on their feet.

Eva Marie's commanding vocals captured immediate attention, while the band's dynamic performance set an exhilarating tone for the night. They were the perfect choice to energize the crowd and prepare them for the exciting performances that lay ahead.

Cody Jinks Band

Next up was the Cody Jinks Band, a Texas country artist who brought an undeniable outlaw swagger to the stage.

I must confess, I wasn’t very familiar with the Cody Jinks Band prior to this show. My usual preference leans towards rock 'n' roll, but after experiencing his music and performance, I can confidently say I’m now a fan!

What stands out about Jinks' music is his storytelling ability. His songs resonate with a wide audience, capturing experiences that many can relate to. Three tracks that particularly moved me—and encapsulate the essence of his artistry—are “Fast Hand,” “David,” and “Hippies and Cowboys.”

  • “Fast Hand” offers a lonely, bluesy vibe that vividly depicts the life of an outlaw. Its worn-in, road-weary sound draws you right into the narrative.

  • “David” narrates the tale of childhood friends who choose different paths, reminding us that fate eventually catches up to everyone.

  • “Hippies and Cowboys” evokes the feeling of sitting in a dimly lit bar, enjoying a fantastic band while the outside world fades away. That sensation is simply delightful!

These talented Texans truly deserve recognition. Do yourself a favor and give the Cody Jinks Band a listen on your next road trip or daily commute—and become a fan as well!

Finally, it was time for the main attraction. The anticipation was at a fever pitch, and you could feel the crowd waiting for the moment the lights went out.

Then, the sound of what seemed like an out-of-tune ice cream truck—or perhaps a broken Jack in the Box—filled the air. Laughter from clowns followed, and then…

BOOM!!!!

It was all systems go. “Welcome to the Circus!”

The sound waves from the heavy riffs of the triple guitar-and-bass attack of Zoltan Bathory and Andy James on guitars, along with Chris Kael on bass, could literally be felt hitting our faces. Compound that with the concussive blast Charlie Engen was delivering from behind the drum kit, and you knew this was going to be an amazing night.

Frontman/singer Ivan Moody came out wearing a retro Phoenix Coyotes hockey jersey, which received plenty of love from the hometown crowd.

Five Finger Death Punch then blistered through a 17-song set packed with hit after hit spanning their two decades on the metal scene. Songs like “Bad Company,” “Wash It All Away,” “Burn MF,” “Wrong Side of Heaven,” and “Never Enough” kept the crowd fired up throughout the night.

The crowd couldn't get enough, and the band returned for a three-song encore to bring the night home.

During the encore, Moody brought out a baseball bat, signed it, and gave it to a young girl in the audience, acknowledging her as part of the next generation of metal fans. It was one of those moments that stood out amid all the chaos and noise of the evening.

After which it was now time for some freebies for the fans!

A small group came out with T-shirt cannons and began launching shirts into the crowd. All the while, Moody was removing a multitude of necklaces, chains, bandanas, and other personal items and tossing them out to the fans.

Five Finger Death Punch finished the night with “The Bleeding,” giving the fans one final chance to sing along with the band before the evening came to an end.

It was an amazing concert featuring three very different sounds. Eva Under Fire brought the alternative-metal energy, Cody Jinks Band brought his Texas outlaw-country style, and Five Finger Death Punch delivered the crushing metal performance everyone came to see.

I'd have to say everyone got their money's worth that night!
