Killer Queen - A Tribute to Queen offered this capacity crowd at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts an immersive experience that celebrates the music and legacy of Queen, one of rock music's most iconic bands.

Led by the phenomenal powerhouse vocals of Patrick Myers, who channels Freddie Mercury and also plays multiple instruments, including piano and acoustic guitar, this tribute band features a talented group of musicians and vocalists. Together, Myers and his ensemble faithfully recreate every facet of Queen's diverse musical repertoire.

The band catapults the audience on a thrilling and exhilarating musical journey, delivering hit after hit alongside a few hidden gems for the devoted fans. The songs performed celebrate the rich musical diversity that defines Queen.

There’s something for every Queen aficionado and fan, featuring the band’s electrifying rockers like “Stone Cold Crazy,” “Don’t Stop Me Now,” and “Tie Your Mother Down.” They also unleash the gospel-infused, bluesy arena rock of “Somebody to Love,” where Myers masterfully performs both the Freddie Mercury and David Bowie parts.

To keep the excitement soaring, the band includes a lively medley of “Killer Queen/Bicycle Race” and “Fat Bottomed Girls,” inviting the audience to join in an unending sing-along.

Every musician in this band is phenomenal, expertly capturing and delivering each iconic element of every song with vibrant precision. From the electrifying guitar riffs of “Killer Queen” to the punchy lead with a Rockabilly flair in “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” they bring a dynamic energy that lights up the stage and captivates the audience.

These iconic drum grooves have the power to stir emotions and energize crowds, turning any gathering into an electrifying experience. The thundering rhythm that incites everyone to clap their hands to the rhythm of “We Will Rock You” sets the stage for a dynamic performance, while “You’re My Best Friend” brings a heartfelt groove along with the song's air drumable fills, resonates with listeners. Meanwhile, the triumphant drumming in “We Are the Champions” has everyone swinging to the 6/8 groove that captures the essence of victory and perseverance, making this song the enduring anthem that continues to captivate audiences around the world.

The iconic bass guitar lines in “Under Pressure” and “Another One Bites the Dust” are legendary, showcasing the band's exceptional talent with electrifying energy. These grooves are not just heard but felt, pulsating through your veins and demanding attention. Let’s not overlook the mesmerizing and electrifying piano lines performed by the talented Patrick Myers in tracks such as the soulful “Somebody to Love,” the heart-stirring “Save Me,” and the exhilarating positive lyrics of “Don’t Stop Me Now.” These performances are sure to captivate and thrill listeners with their brilliance and energy.

Naturally, no Queen tribute would be complete without the magnificent and spectacular production of "Bohemian Rhapsody." This masterful operatic style anthem begins with a captivating piano and vocal intro that immediately draws you in and incites the largest choir sing along you may ever take part in, setting the stage for an unforgettable musical expierence. The band then faithfully reproduces the song's operatic vocal choir section which is brilliant before the song kicks into high gear with the intense driving rock segment that ensues.

As the song reaches its emotional piano and vocal finale, the audience joines Myers in expressing the emotional pain and final conclusion of this masterpiece.

The band doesn't just perform Queen songs; they deliver an electrifying and unforgettable stage production with every track and each show. The performance is a visual spectacle, featuring dramatic staircases on both sides of the stage that lead up to an exciting upper walkway behind the drums. This setup allows band members to move dynamically across the stage, engaging the audience from high up with flair. They incorporate thrilling effects such as Cold Spark Fountains, which erupt into dazzling showers of sparks akin to a Roman Candle, and powerful CO2 jets that unleash towering columns of smoke. Adding to the excitement, lead singer Myers captivates the crowd with multiple dazzling costume changes custom made to the same style and appearance of Freddie Mercury's stage clothes, enhancing the theatrical experience.

The band electrified the Scottsdale audience with a spectacular 16-song set that had everyone on their feet throughout the show. Each band member showcased their incredible talent with impressive solos that left the crowd in awe. The exhilarating performance reached its crescendo with a thrilling three-song encore, featuring iconic masterpieces of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Will Rock You,” and “We Are The Champions,” leaving the audience cheering for more.

One of the most captivating aspects of the show is how Myers energetically engages the audience, ensuring that the excitement extends beyond the band alone. Throughout the electrifying performance, Myers masterfully transforms the crowd into an integral part of the spectacle by urging everyone to rise from their seats and dive into the rhythm of various songs. The air buzzes with energy as the audience enthusiastically follows Myers’ every cue—standing and swaying their arms in unison, lighting up their cell phones to create a sea of twinkling stars, bouncing with the beat, jumping in exhilaration, or singing along with heartfelt enthusiasm. This dynamic interaction not only elevates the atmosphere but also leaves a lasting impression, making the entire experience far more thrilling and unforgettable than many other concerts you might attend.
