Magnum Axxe Casts an Eerie Spell Over Club 44 on Halloween Hangover Night

The 44 Sports Grill & Nightlife in Glendale, AZ, took on an eerie atmosphere for Halloween, shrouded in decorations that cast unsettling shadows. Guests drifted through the club like apparitions, dressed as ghosts, goblins, witches, and other chilling figures, proudly displaying their creatively eerie Halloween costumes.
On this memorably haunting night, the club hosted an event called the “Halloween Hangover,” featuring a night filled with hard rock and metal music that echoed like a ghostly presence. The event also included a special Christmas Toy Drive, sponsored by the Peoria Fire Department and Bikerz AZ, adding an unexpected twist. The lineup showcased a spine-tingling array of local talent, including bands such as Magnum Axxe, Oddity Paradox, Sectus, and Dutch Rosenberg Theater, all delivering performances that sent shivers down attendees’ spines. Although Show Me God was originally slated to perform, they were unable to make it due to unforeseen circumstances, prompting local favorite Circus Of Mayhem to step in and bring their own brand of chaos to the stage.
Kicking off the evening was the Dutch Rosenberg Theater, igniting the crowd’s enthusiasm with their vibrant costumes and theatrical music. Following them, Oddity Paradox took the stage, delivering a thrilling performance of their avant-garde music. They were joined by Horace Miller, the guitarist from Magnum Axxe, who stepped in to replace their missing guitarist.
Magnum Axxe took the stage next, and as they approached, the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation, with fans eager to welcome these hard-rocking warriors. Without much delay, MA burst onto the stage, prompting fans to rush forward for prime viewing spots. Suddenly, the band launched into the thunderous power chords of “Eyes of Destiny,” with lead singer Mark Keller introducing the band as the song’s heavy beginning assaulted the audience.
From the start of their performance, Keller engaged the crowd, encouraging everyone to join in for fist-pumping sing-alongs. This quickly turned the venue into a chorus of metalheads belting out the chorus to the fan favorite, “The Eyes of Destiny.”

The band then transitioned into the classic “Red Hot” by Motley Crue, igniting the crowd as fists pumped to the driving rhythm of the double bass at the song’s introduction. During the chorus, Keller had everyone shouting “Red Hot,” while guitarist Horace Miller mesmerized the audience with melodic guitar lines during the solo section. Adding a playful twist to the Halloween costume party, front-man Mark Keller donned a Little Red Riding Hood outfit and engaged and delighted the audience with his fun and lighthearted touch.
Before presenting the next Magnum Axxe original track “Edge of Vengeance,” Keller introduced the band’s new drummer, Roc Boyum, who was greeted with enthusiastic cheers as he waved to the crowd.

Drummer Boyum gave the count in to “EOV” that launched this full throttle metal rocker that started with dynamic thunder punched by Boyum and bassist Jim Warren while guitarist Horace Miller unleashed his rapid guitar lines that set the course for the song’s driving force.
The track showcased the blistering vocals of Mark Keller, who led the charge, turning the audience into a fist-pumping brigade. Ace guitarist Horace Miller delivered a shredding solo, showcasing his renowned style, while bassist Jim Warren energetically stomped around the stage, delivering powerful, driving bass lines and sharp accents that struck the audience like powerful punches from a heavyweight prizefighter.

The band continued with two more originals that are both fan favorites with “This Nightmare” and “Red Line.”
Singer Keller told the audience before starting “This Nightmare” that the band had just put out a promotional video on YouTube for the song which fans seemed to have embraced as they sang along enthusiastically to the lines, “Oh” – Oooh” before each verse. I can see why “Red Line” is a fan favorite, with its relentless galloping rhythms and chant-worthy vocal lines – I found myself chanting the words “Red Line” as Keller encouraged everyone to participate.
Next up, they covered Rob Halford’s “Nailed To The Gun” from his solo project Fight. This electrifying rocker is undeniably a crowd favorite, as Keller had the entire venue singing along to “Nailed To The Gun.” Notably, three members of Circus Of Mayhem, who were in attendance, joined in with loud vocal support.
The band then launched into their next song “Fire At Will” which likely saw the most audience participation. The song features a breakdown section where Keller invites everyone to join in singing “Fire At Will” during the call and answer section. What adds to the enjoyment is Keller turning his microphone towards audience members, allowing their voices to resonate over the PA system. This interactive element not only creates a lively fun atmosphere but also keeps the audience fully engaged.
For the Magnum Axxe original song “Warrior” guitarist Miller came to the front of the stage by himself EVH style to deliver a jaw dropping shredding solo that captured everyone’s attention.

The final three songs of the evening featured two original tracks by Magnum Axxe: the anthemic “Welcome To Never,” reminiscent of Motley Crue, and the haunting rocker “Under The Ice.” The band also delivered an impressive performance of the Ronnie James Dio classic “Stand Up and Shout,” characterized by its driving rhythms, blistering guitar solos, and shredding vocals, which seamlessly fit into their set.
